What I've been reading, eating, playing, obsessing over, recommending, and treating myself with!

Hello beautiful friends,
I’ve missed you terribly! The last time we spoke I shared with you all my R.E.P.O.R.T for September — SIX MONTHS AGO! I can’t believe it’s been that long. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! I’m super excited to get back into this routine and share a little more of the random things that bring me joy. I’ll probably sprinkle some trinkets of where I’ve been the past few months throughout the upcoming newsletters, but for now, let’s get into my January and February R.E.P.O.R.T.
January & February Reflection
January: January was a great start to 2024. I spent a lot of time in December-January prepping for the new year by creating new notion spreads, planning my goals, and realigning with myself. I definitely could’ve used a little more self-care as most of my time was divided between work and law school applications; but overall, it was a FANTASTIC month.
February: If January was the high, February was the low. For such a quick month, it gave me a huge beating. There were so many things going on in my personal life that just felt like a complete pile-on. And to make matters 10x worse I ended up getting SICK. I have zero idea what happened but I woke up one day with my entire body feeling like I finished 6 cross fit sessions in 1 day. Then I got the chills, headache, my period, and for some reason, my teeth started hurting??? Needless to say, I am glad that February is OVER.
At the moment I’m reading The Society of Soulless Girls by Laura Steven and Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire. So far, I’m intrigued by Soulless Girls. It gives gloomy and mysterious campus vibes. I tend to stay away from blurbs so I’m not entirely sure where the story is taking me but I’m excited to uncover the mystery.
Usually, this section is reserved for “eating” but I haven’t had anything extraordinary lately so bare with me as I get a smidge vulnerable. I’ve been dealing with a sh*t ton lately, most of which I’ve internalized and hid behind a smile or a joke. My plate has been overflowing with stress and an abundance of things that need my attention. I’ve distanced myself from friends, gotten quieter, and truthfully haven’t allowed myself to bask in how I truly feel. Yet, I’m grateful for me. The past several months have been tough and I can only imagine the road ahead but I am truly my own best friend and that’s something I’ll always cherish. I’ve pushed myself, cheered for myself, but most importantly, loved myself wholeheartedly.
Friends, Dreamlight Valley is infiltrating my life!! I’ve been playing DLV since it was in its beta phase but lately, I’ve been OBSESSED with decorating my valley. I recently finished my peaceful meadow (though I’ll be changing some things shortly) and am currently working on the plaza. I’m having entirely too much fun.
I made a deal with myself that if I spend a month playing one game, the next month I’ll play a different game. I’m thinking about picking up Zelda in March since I bought it years ago but barely played for more than 20 minutes.
As a lover of all things reality TV, I’ve been obsessing over Real Housewives of Miami. I decided to finally start this city after the DRAMATIC ending to RHOSLC (do we believe Heather?) and needless to say NO ONE is doing it like my Miami girls. Luxury. Drama. Friendship. They’ve got it ALL. I can’t fathom the fact that there was an eight-year hiatus between seasons 3 and 4 when these ladies clock in like the rent is due. I binged all of seasons 1-5 and finally got onto 6 last week. I need all of you to watch as well so we can discuss all the tea because omg it’s piping hot.
What’s your favorite reality TV show?
I’ve been in desperate need of some leggings (flare leggings to be exact). I wanted something comfortable to run errands in that I could also use for work when I didn’t feel like wearing jeans, sweats, or trousers. These Garage leggings caught my eye and WOW they are perfect. So buttery smooth, airy, and hugs the curves beautifully. I’m very picky with my leggings since a lot of the time they come out very sheer and the ones that aren’t sheer are heavy with fabric. But I don’t have that problem with these, they’re the perfect thickness to provide coverage while ensuring that you don’t overheat. My biggest issue with these leggings is they’re not short-friendly. I constantly have to fold the hem to not step on them but I’ll be getting them tailored soon enough. I love pairing them with my Fila sneakers for extra comfort.
Lately, I love ending my night with an ice-cold cup of iced tea. It’s become a staple in my night routine as I scroll my Tik Tok feed. I enjoy the lemon flavor by Lipton and for a little extra kick, I squeeze half a lime. BELLÍSIMO!
Favorite Reads of the Year
January: Covet by Tracy Wolff (literally obsessed with this series)
February: Heartstopper Vol 5 by Alice Oseman (I don’t want this story to end)
That’s all for now friends. I really appreciate you sticking around and reading my very long rant about random things. I usually like to include mini goals but this month I just want to focus on getting back to my slow living routine. I’ll see you next week!
